Ecommerce CPS Reviews: Inspect Product Feet Before Filming a Demo
An evidence checklist for affiliate reviewers documenting product feet, contact points, and setup conditions without overstating stability.
A tabletop demonstration shows a product in one setup. It does not explain whether every foot touches the surface, whether a protective film remains underneath, or whether the reviewer adjusted a support before filming. For affiliates creating ecommerce CPS content, those details define what the demonstration can honestly support.
This proposed review procedure focuses on contact points. It is not a laboratory stability assessment, a safety certification, or evidence that any particular product will perform the same way in every home.
Record the underside before the demonstration
Identify the exact model and variant. Follow the supplied setup instructions, then photograph the underside where it is safe to do so. Record the number and location of feet, whether any pads appear loose, and whether the instructions identify removable transport protection. Do not peel off an unfamiliar layer merely because it resembles packaging.
Separate three evidence types in the working notes: what the manual states, what the sample visibly contains, and what the reviewer actually observed during ordinary use. A listing that mentions rubber feet does not establish how the sample behaves on a specific desk.
Describe the contact conditions
Use an appropriate level surface and the normal operating configuration specified by the manufacturer. Record the surface material and whether it was clean and dry. Without applying unusual force or unsafe loads, observe whether the product sits evenly in that configuration. If the instructions permit leveling adjustments, document them before showing the finished setup.
- Show the contact points when the camera can reach them safely.
- Note any permitted adjustment made before filming.
- Keep added mats or supports visible and identify them as separate accessories.
- Stop if the setup appears damaged or unsafe; do not turn the review into a stress test.
Keep conclusions narrower than the footage
A useful observation might read: in this demonstration, the sample rested on a clean laminate desk with its supplied feet and no added mat. That wording reports conditions. A claim such as secure on every surface would require evidence far beyond that scene.
If a pad is missing from one sample, describe the sample issue and seek clarification from the seller. Do not infer that every unit shares the defect. Conversely, a successful short demonstration cannot establish long-term pad adhesion or resistance to wear.
Make the evidence useful to campaign partners
For publishers, save the underside image beside the review script so an editor can preserve the qualification when cutting a shorter clip. Advertisers can supply model-specific setup instructions and identify any separately sold support accessories. Creators and KOLs should retain the same conditions in captions, comparison tables, and paid placements.
The deliverable is a traceable setup description: model, contact points, surface, adjustments, observed behavior, and untested conditions. It helps an ecommerce affiliate audience judge relevance without turning one filmed sample into an unsupported universal promise.
